Sugar tells a story of two ex lovers failing to reconnect via text message as one is moving away for good. Sugar depicts a bleak and hyperactive reality delivered as a narrative/visual interpretation of a track titled Sugar by New York City based electronic music producer Phaseone. The tune itself is a spacey slow-jam, which Phaseone describes as "an homage to the '90s Chicago rap sound of Twista and Do or Die that my friends and I grew up listening to."

🥈 2020 Telly Awards - Silver Winner for Online General - Talk Show/Interview

One of my favorite videos that I’ve worked on with GQ, we took a deep-dive into Keanu Reeve’s obsession with motorcycles, his history of riding, and took an upclose look at his bespoke company Arch Motorcycles. It was a blast to develop the visual style of this series, mixing up a variety of archival images, movie clips, and production stills to reinforce why Keanu is a cut above the rest.

Safe to say this one broke the internet. One of the first videos of Kim, Kanye, and the entire West family in their incredible Calabasas home. I’m proud to have helped bring home another award to Condé Nast Entertainment.

I wanted to test out a few different tools I was building in After Effects and ended up making an earlier (less polished) version of this as an experiment. A majority of the elements are controlled by custom expressions, allowing the animation to generate automatically based on a single control layer. The isometric pilars are programmed to react to the the music using Sound Keys. In all, I created 4 different videos for the EP - one for each song.

Pick up the track here.
